We are proud to report that we have launched a pilot program (brain coaching) at Double Diamond Athletic Club where survivors that range from 6 months to 30 years post traumatic brain injury are participating and all of them have made measureable improvements. Check our website at www.brainnevada.com to see how our program has made an impact.

On September 19, 2015, Because I Can and B.R.A.I.N., will be hosting our 6th Annual Golf Tournament to raise awareness of persons with brain injuries in our community. Brain Injuries affects 1.7 million, including 475,000 children, each year in the U.S. Over the last few years it has become increasingly more important to highlight prevention and awareness, along with the determination to overcome adversity. Although there has been recent media attention about brain injuries (ex: concussions are considered a brain injury), it still remains poorly understood and misdiagnosed, despite the fact that a brain injury effects more people than breast cancer, colon cancer and HIV/AIDS.

Our goal is to continue supporting brain health, recovery, prevention, awareness and education in our community through:

• Empower individuals with a neurological condition to regain independence with nutrition, exercise, good sleeping and self-development – brain coaching program.
• Schools and youth programs to understand the signs and symptoms of a concussion-Identify in order to minimize the risk of concussion, which may eliminate a serious brain injury.
• Create a Buddy System Program.
• The concussion doesn’t always happen in the sport.
• “BE EDUCATED”

To make this golf tournament a success, we are asking businesses as yours to be a sponsor, form golf teams, sponsor holes, and donate goods or services for our raffle prizes. Our goal is to raise $50,000, we can only reach this goal with the help of our Community, Local Businesses, and Individual Contributions.

All proceeds go towards building a program for our community and individuals that usually regress. We are asking for your sponsorship and/or raffle donation. For an item donation, please contact me for pick up arrangements or mail to the address above. If you have any questions, please contact Teresa Morros at 775-771-1540.

Thanking you in advance for your support!
